College of Health Professions Graduation Ceremony May 2022

Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Greater Richmond Convention Center

The College Graduation Ceremony celebrates the achievements of the graduating students in the College of Health Professions. Each participant's name is read as they cross the stage and receive the congratulations of the dean of the College, faculty, fellow students, friends and family.

The College of Health Professions Graduation Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. For guests, tickets are required upon entry. Students are encouraged to contact their department regarding registration and ticket information. All other questions, please contact Ms. Gary (garycs@vcu.edu) in the Dean's Office.

The health and safety of our community continues to be our top priority. Commencement will adhere to university guidance for all events, including our physical distancing framework and campus mask policy.

Graduation Fair

Grad Fair: March 29th at 10. a.m. - 4 p.m. (Barnes and Noble @ VCU Medical Center)

Regalia will be available for purchase during the Grad Fair events. The Grad Fair will be held at the MCV Campus Barnes & Noble @ VCU on March 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the Monroe Park Campus Barnes & Noble @ VCU, March 30 from 10 a.m to 5 p.m., March 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and April 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please keep in mind that you must visit your primary campus Barnes and Noble to purchase your specific regalia.

Following the Grad Fair, regalia will be available for purchase at the Barnes & Noble @ VCU on the Monroe Park and MCV campuses. If you are unable to attend the Grad Fair or visit Barnes & Noble, please order your regalia online at balfour.com/vcu. Shipping charges will apply to all internet orders.

Regalia prices, which include cap, gown, hood and tassel, are as follows: bachelor’s set, $63.94; master’s set, $81.94; Ph.D./Ed.D. set, $120.92; and professional doctorate set, $69.94 (professional doctorate programs include D.P.T., D.D.S., Pharm.D., M.D. and D.N.A.P.). Prices do not include sales tax.

*If unable to attend Grad Fair, you are still able to pick up items at the VCU Medical Center Barnes & Noble.

Recruitment Ambassador Program

The Recruitment Ambassador Program is an interprofessional group of students that assist in recruitment efforts by representing the College during outreach activities. Recruitment Ambassadors (RA’s) represent VCU and the College during college fairs, school visits, information sessions, accepted student activities and other recruitment programs. They also participate in building tours, orientation activities, and may be requested to participate in marketing events for the College.

Eligibility:

  • Currently enrolled College of Health Professions student
  • Must be a student in good standing
  • Must have successfully completed at least 1 semester as a CHP student
  • Selected Recruitment Ambassadors are expected to serve a full term of an academic year

Please note, a complete application consists of the following:

  • Complete application
  • 1 Applicant Recommendation Form (completed by a faculty member, advisor, or dept chair)

College of Health Professions Orientation Fall 2021

Join us for our Fall 2021 Orientation on August 20 at 10am in the CHP Building! Students are encouraged to watch a variety of provided videos to learn more about the services available to you and about the College of Health Professions.  Students who watch all modules by August 18 will be entered into a raffle for several exciting prizes.   Winners will be announced during the orientation on August 20.  Students that are unable to attend in person will be provided a link to participate in an alternative format. We can’t wait to welcome you!

Weeks of Welcome

VCU kicks off the new school year with Weeks of Welcome (WoW), a month-long collection of contests, prizes, and more than 100 events!  WoW is designed for both new and returning students.  Wow events will help you learn about VCU traditions and resources, explore campus, and meet new people.  The WoW schedule will be released at the beginning of each fall semester.

CHP Executive Student Council

Want to get involved? Interested in helping to shape the CHiPper experience? The Executive Student Council (ESC) is for you!  ESC, the student governance body of CHP, advises the Dean on student needs and concerns, helps develop the programming/events schedule, and oversees the CHP community service project each year.  You can apply to be a member or run for office.  For more information, email Dean Hampton at achampton@vcu.edu.
