About us
Welcome to Virginia Commonwealth University College of Health Professions.
Health professionals work in health care fields that require specialized knowledge and intensive academic preparation at the undergraduate, master's or doctoral level. These practitioners comprise an estimated 60 percent of the health care workforce. Think about a typical visit to the doctor: While you’re conferring one-on-one with your physician, many other professionals may be working behind the scenes to help your doctor make a diagnosis by doing laboratory tests, developing X-rays, providing images and coordinating care. Others may help you later with your therapy, recovery and rehabilitation.
The VCU College of Health Professions is a nationally recognized leader in the education of health providers and cultivates an interprofessional approach to training in the following fields:
- Gerontology
- Health Administration
- Medical Laboratory Sciences
- Nurse Anesthesia
- Occupational Therapy
- Patient Counseling

- Rehabilitation Counseling
