Bio
Dr. Nickie Damico is an Associate Professor and the Herbert T. Watson Endowed Chair of the Department of Nurse Anesthesia at Virginia Commonwealth University. Since joining the faculty in 2010, she has served in multiple academic leadership roles, including Director of the Master’s Program, Vice Chair for Academic Affairs, and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
She teaches Leadership in Nurse Anesthesia Education in the DNAP program and maintains clinical practice at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital. Her research interests include mechanical ventilation strategies in anesthetized patients, academic success in graduate education, and AI-enhanced instructional strategies.
