
Bio
Rev. Leigh Finnegan-Hosey is a faculty instructor in the Patient Counseling Department and staff chaplain for VCU Health, serving in the areas of perinatal and reproductive health. She holds board certification through the Association of Professional Chaplains (BCC) and brings extensive clinical and pastoral experience to her work, having previously served in the spiritual care departments of Georgetown University, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, and ECU Health.
Leigh is a Certified Listener Poet through the Good Listening Project, through which she conducts listening sessions and composes poetry for patients, providers, and others navigating healthcare spaces. She has presented at the National Association for Poetry Therapy and lectures regularly on the intersection of spirituality and the medical humanities across academic and clinical settings, with particular attention to poetry as a vehicle for integrating the healing arts into spiritual care.
