Bio

Dr. Kathryn Shaab, Assistant Professor at VCU’s DPT program, combines clinical expertise with a deep passion for andragogy. After starting her career as a high school biology teacher, she earned her DPT from VCU and practiced in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation in the greater Richmond area. Her unique clinical expertise informs her role as a rehabilitation instructor, a position she has held since 2019. Today, she serves as the Director of DPT Student Affairs, where she empowers DPT students to master graduate-level skills. A dedicated advocate for representation, Dr. Shaab serves as the PT faculty within VCU’s Diversity PATHs programs. She holds a PhD in Education from Capella University, with research interests in advancing student success, instructional innovation and curricular design.
