Bio
Camden Wilson began her academic journey at VCU, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science. She gained valuable experience working in a variety of clinical laboratories throughout the Richmond area before returning to VCU to complete a Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Science, with a concentration in education. During her time as a graduate student, she gained experience instructing lab sessions and lectures which deepened her commitment to teaching. Her graduate research explored the identification of adhesion molecules on Naegleria fowleri using flow cytometry. Currently, her research interests also include mass spectrometry analysis, high performance liquid chromatography, and proper lab test utilization.
Prior to her full-time appointment in May 2025, Ms. Wilson served as an adjunct instructor in the department. She is deeply committed to training the next generation of medical laboratory scientists and is passionate about incorporating real-world clinical experiences into her teaching to enhance student learning. She is also a devoted advocate for the profession, and encourages students to become competent, confident, and enthusiastic medical laboratory scientists.
