Admissions Mission Statement
The College of Health Professions strives to promote a culture where everyone is welcome, everyone thrives, and everyone embraces the many opportunities available. Our responsibility is to train health care professionals who can both effectively serve communities and reflect the vibrant individuals and populations of the Commonwealth of Virginia. We endeavor to create influential health care practitioners and leaders who are committed to providing the highest quality of care to all people, removing barriers to healthcare access, and eliminating health disparities. Our recruitment practices are designed to create a student body that includes a broad range of backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences. We conduct comprehensive, holistic review of all applicants, which includes consideration of individual attributes, live experiences, and academic performance, bringing together students who are motivated, resilient leaders committed to our values and goals. The College of Health Professions does not consider an applicant’s race gender or other protected characteristics, or legacy status, as a factor when determining admission.
