Jodi C. Carlsen, DNAP, CRNA, APRN, is Faculty in the Department of Nurse Anesthesia at VCU. Dr. Carlsen joined the department in 2021 as Adjunct Faculty before becoming full-time faculty in 2023. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mercy College of Detroit, Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from University of Detroit Mercy, and her Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Carlsen is a senior practicing anesthetist with Paragon Anesthesia Services in Johnson City, Tennessee at the regional Level One and Children’s Hospital. Her research interest includes safety of anesthesia practice in the neonatal and pediatric patient, as well as multimodal anesthesia. Dr. Carlsen in her free time is active in her community by organizing educational activities for the areas children and adults.
