Aisling serves as Project Manager for two federally funded elder justice innovation grants at the Elder Justice Learning & Research Hub at the Virginia Center on Aging: Virginia Helping Elders Access Resources (HEAR) and the Greater Richmond Elder Justice Shelter Initiative. She brings a strong commitment to advancing social justice, equity and well-being through person-centered approaches that address the social determinants of health.
Originally from Ireland, Aisling has a background that spans direct service, resource development, community engagement and project management. Aisling previously spent eight years in an international human rights role at a UNESCO-appointed center at a university in Ireland, where she led and partnered on numerous grant-funded European and International initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly those focused on disability inclusion, health, and community partnerships. Her work is grounded in a salutogenic (well-being–focused) model and driven by a vision of a thriving society where the healthy choice is the easy choice for all.
