Our team
Jan Stout serves as the Bridge recruitment coordinator for the College of Health Professions and is responsible for all student-related recruitment activities and developing strategic collegiate partnerships in Southwest VA. In addition, as a member of the student success team, Stout supports the overall mission of the Dean’s Office by developing and managing programs designed to promote professional development and community across the transfer student population.
Based in Abingdon,VA, Stout holds a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Intermont College in psychology, and a Master of Science in health education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. In addition, Stout has post-master’s work from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in health education specializing in health disparities and needs assessment in Southwest Virginia.
Prior to VCU, Stout served as an academic advisor for East Tennessee State University and a one stop counselor for University of Tennessee. She has also held positions in the Virginia Community College System in both academic advisement, program coordination and has served as faculty, teaching in the fields of education and health sciences.
