Ms. Mathews holds a Graduate Certificate in Aging Studies from the Department of Gerontology at VCU and a BS in Psychology and Communications from James Madison University. Beginning in 2008 she gathered and protected subject data via personal interview and medical record audits in the VCU Department of Health Care Policy and Research. Since 2011 she has been employed as a research assistant, and then an evaluations coordinator for the Virginia Geriatric Education Center at the Virginia Center on Aging. Under the direction of Dr. Coogle, she has primary responsibility for data collection and entry, coordinating the collection of data from the designated evaluators affiliated with each of the VGEC Consortium partners, ensuring the timely transmission of all evaluation data collected. She also conducts formative evaluation at the lead site to document program fidelity indicators, and assists Dr. Coogle with the development of instrumentation and protocols.
